Clothing (Suit, Lap Coat, Dressing Gown): We used lots of different clothing, on our characters, in the opening title sequence.
This to represent all of them - has to be from different jobs and have a different personality. The first piece of clothing was the suit. This was for the agent, and showed him as being smart. The red tie is the colour of blood and we wanted to give the viewer a sense, that he has killed before. The tie, was slightly lose. The top button was undone; which gave the feeling that he was relax. The shot was not completely focused, when entering the building. The Lab Coats, were the second main piece of clothing. The Doctors, wore these as well as shirts underneath. This was to show, their jobs at the Asylum; also make them look smart. Finally, a dressing gown - was used for the possessed mental patient. This is because it had a dark colours, but also, wearing a white t-shirt is like typical horrors. Clip Board: The clip board was used, when walking- to the mental patient, who was possessed. This was so that the doctor- looked like, he was reading information about her. This shows, that they have worked with their patients and make close observations. however they still do not know what is wrong with her. This is because they use Science rather than Religion, which is all part of the Devil. Camera/Tri-Pod: For the Camera, we mostly used a Tri-Pod to film. This is so that, all the filming was straight; so we could achieve the angles that we wanted. In some shots we used a Hand-held Camera, so that we could give the viewer a sense of a first person perspective. This was hoping to present, more fear within the scene. As the viewer could see/feel how the character is feeling, as well as - other effects used- like screaming. Eye Shadow/Nudes: We have used makeup on the possessed mental patient; to make her look more feared. The eye shadow was used to darken the areas around her eyes, and the nudes were used to lighten her face. This gave an overall good deathly look and would give attention to the eyes , which I like the idea of ; because it means that she is always watching, and therefore the Devil can see you. Pad Lock/Key: We used the pad lock and key to gain access, to the door, of which the possessed mental patient was in. The use of the pad lock, showed that they considered her as very dangerous, and fear their lives. This creates tension at the start of the scene; people get worried of what could be hidden instead. The tension then carries to build-throughout the scene, when the door has been opened. |
