(Evaluation Question 6)
What have you learnt about the technologies from the process of constructing this product?
We have learned a great deal with the technological aspects of the development of Patient Purgatory, our title sequence. Due to the fact, that we had to adapt to certain technological platforms and techniques to enhance our work on our website and how we present our information as well as the title sequence itself 'Patient Purgatory'.
We used technological editing platforms such as FinalCut Pro to make our title sequence a lot more clean and professional; otherwise our title sequence despite our efforts would be low quality and would not be at the professional standard that Crimson Webb films should offer. We would also in a business perspective lose clients and individuals that can boost our growth in the filming industry.
A few of us in our group had to adapt to the technologies that were given to us, with some trouble at the start. For example, we were doing some filming for our evaluation question 4, on our target audience; we accidentally did not start recording the interviews thinking that we did. Which did cause us great distress as we were behind therefore on our Shooting Schedule. At this point in time it was incredibly serious, so we ended up sacrificing our free time to get these interviews completed and to get back at least on schedule.
Consequently, we understood that understanding the technologies, whether it be equipment such as the Camera and Tripod or the editing platform used being Final Cut Pro is inevitable to our success as Crimson Webb Films. This advantages would make us stand out of the crowd, in comparison to others as we would be able to use the equipment effectively; making advantage of the good atributes to each piece of equipment, thus our title sequence is more likely to be of a high quality that we will like, the client will like and hopefully our main target audience would like.
This video ultimately shows how we used these platforms to our benefits, with visual steps to guide you through each of the applications to making our title sequence. This video was made by continuous amounts of trial and errors made by the crew, but we have finally formed a video that encompasses all of the things we have learned about these applications in the past six months of us being introduce with such a fantastic but at times confusing computer application.
This video explicitly shoes how to take motion background, (from in this case YouTube) - using ClipConverter converting it to a file type that is appropriate for our editing software. Then we imported the media, being the motion background into our editing software (Final Cut Pro).
We did the same with a background track- also from YouTube we converted the clip into an mp3; for which we import into Final Cut Pro as well.
We included how to add pages on our websites on the website application.
Weebly, which is what we used as the basis of our website. As it is a very reliable website creator as it allows you to import media with little to no delay such as HD Videos, Audio and YouTube videos. You are able to add images and slide shows in such a way that it makes the website look unique and spectacular but at the same time it is clear that it is a website that our audience would want to go on to find out about the development of Patient Purgatory and how we got over technological difficulties. Hence this page, which is why it was created. To help others understand that technology isn't always as smooth sailing as it seems.
